House in R.D.1 LYTTELTON, New Zealand

Hi Intervac friends
We are very excited about this system of house exchange in different places around the globe.   We live in one of THE most beautiful places on the planet and would be happy to share our home with like-minded people.
Our home and garden are architecturally designed for comfort, scenery, earthquake protection, with all mod cons. * As at 5/9/2010 - totally unaffected by the recent earthquake.  As the photos show, it consists of entrance hall and courtyard,  kitchen, 3 living rooms,  3 bedrooms,             3 bathrooms, large balcony, small study, laundry and garage.  The garden is extensive with many plants, a lily-pond, outside seating and two bbq's to use.  We are close to several local beaches, the yatch club and national walking tracks.
We are currently looking for exchanges in UK - pref. the south coast, and Paris during March/ April.
There are only two of us so we do not need a house, an apartment or flat would be acceptable but would like two bedrooms for any UK family or friends who may be able to come across to France for a week-end break.
If you are interested in visiting New Zealands South Island, we look forward to hearing from you soon and will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.     Kiwi regards from  Errol and Brenda Walker.

Our Neighbourhood

We live on the rim of an extinct volcano known as Banks Peninsula, named for Joseph Banks the botanist on Captain Cook's ship 'The Endeavour'.  Our home overlooks Lyttelton Harbour with much shipping interest coming and going, and is situated in a small village known as Diamond Harbour - for photos check out our local website www.diamondharbour.info
When you want to leave the car behind, our local ferry takes you across the water to Lyttelton in six minutes where the large Farmers Market sells wonderful fresh locally grown and hand-made produce every Saturday morning.  Christchurch city centre is a 30min bus ride from Lyttelton - for photos and info - check out the website www.lytteltonharbour.co.nz
The other harbour on Banks Peninsula is Akaroa, an early French settlement in New Zealand with many streets, buildings, french culture and descendents of the first french families still resident there.  For photos and history check out the website www.akaroa.com
