Comfortable home close to city centre and woods

Dear Intervac friends,

We are a family of 5, but the children do not come with us anymore. Our two oldest children are twins. They are studying in Groningen and The Hague. The youngest still lives at home. So it is just. Alastair (53) and Akke (50) on house exchange. Finn (18), Jesse (21) and Anouska (21) might join occassionally. We are looking for a non simultanuous exchange. Our house is available from 13 July until 1 August. We could stay in your (second) house another holiday (autumn, winter). We have a cat to look after but neighbours can also look after her when you are not there
We live in Leeuwarden, a small town with canals, bridges, and bicycles. It is the capital of Friesland. Our semi-detached house is comfortable and recently renovated. We have four bedrooms with in total 7 beds (three double beds and one single bed). There is one bathroom. In total the living space is about 120 m2, divided over three floors. The house is located in a green and quiet estate bordering the Leeuwarder woods, with many deer, birds, foxes, frogs, ducks, herrons, hedgehogs, and other wildlife. In our garden we have many flowers and a terrace. It is only 10 minutes cycling to the city centre of Leeuwarden. Various recreational cycling routes pass our house as well. Amsterdam is only one hour and 15 minutes by car, Groningen is one hour driving, and the Wadden islands are very close.

We love exploring new places, including in the Netherlands. We had very nice house exchanges in Iceland (Reykjavik, summer 2014), France (Bretagne, summer 2008, Bordeaux, New Year 2014-15, French Alpes, autumn 2016), Belgium (Easter 2013, NY 2013-14), Northern Germany (Easter in Bremen, Easter in small village), Switzerland (Baar, summer 2010), Norway (summer 2009), Denmark (New Year 2009-10), Scotland (Glasgow-Highlands, summer 2009), Spain (Ebro Delta, summer 2019) and also in North Babant and South Holland in the Netherlands (May Holiday and Easter).
