We are a patchwork family living in two places. Hans house is in Ruhpoling, Verena's house is in Henndorf. In 2025 we want to exchange Hans' house in Ruhpolding.
Ruhpolding is a little village in Bavaria, famous for the Bisathlon centers and competitions. It offers a lot to do, like a public swimming pool (indoor and outdoor), a skiing lift, mountains, ... .
It is situated on half way between Salzburg and Munich.
Henndorf is a village of about 5000 habitants situated about 15km NE of Salzburg at the lake Wallersee. There are all facilities you need like shops, doctors, restaurants, a park, playgrounds and a very nice beach at the lake. Buses to Salzburg run about every 20 - 30 minutes.
Henndorf is known having been the home for some famous writers like Carl Zuckmayr and Franz Stelzhammer and there is also "Gut Aiderbichl", a home for abandoned animals which can be visited. (http://gut-aiderbichl.at/page.home.php?start=).

The town of Salzburg offers a lot to do like cultural events (summer festivals), museums of fine arts, science centre for children, a zoo, leisure pools, ... .
Around Salzburg and Henndorf you can go hiking, cycling, ... . There are cablecars onto the biggest mountains of the area, there are big ice caves, medieval castles, ... .
