Apartment in Potsdam Germany
Our apartment is next to fields and forest, exactly on the south-west edge of Potsdam and very close to the world famous castle Sanssouci. Lot’s of fruit-trees are around the whole apartment complex, and everyone is allowed to pick the fruits. We also have nearby a nice playground for kids including a huge trampoline, on the field’s edge.
Our apartment:
The centre of the apartment is a bright large living room (with a couple bed). From there you enter our terrace, where you can sit and relax facing the fields. The kid’s room has a single bed and also a high bed, where 2 people can sleep in. We also have soooo much LEGO zu play with. I can also offer some extra matrace for sleeping. In the kitchen is everything you need, like toaster, oven and so on. The bathroom has bathtub, shower, toilett and washing machine.
Close by is a big grogerystore with a fine bakery.
5 minutes walking away is the train station that takes you to the centre of Potsdam (in 10 min.) and to Berlin (30 min.).
Potsdam is situated right below Berlin. The border between the two cites is the GLIENICKER BRIDGE, which often stars in big Hollywood movies as scenery.
Where Berlin is an international city, feeling like the next NYC, is Potsdam an elegant classy place to hang out, with a wonderful historical centre, like the “little Amsterdam”! It has everything you need: cafes, restaurants, creative shops, art, water, historical buildings, old churges and almost no traffic and friendly Potsdamer-people! You can also rent a boot and go sightseeing on a ship (around Potsdam or into Berlin).
Potsdam is surrounded by many lakes, like the Havel, Schwielowsee, Heiligensee… You reach any of those by bike if you want and we recommend checking them all out. Every lake has their different charm.
2 km away is the river Havel where you can go on a beautiful bike ride next the riverside. We have 3 bikes for a trip. A very nice hidden castle restaurant is also there on the Havel-lake (by bike in 10 min.) You sit there facing the lake, no cars only nature and amacing hundrets of waterbirds...The old film stars of Babelsberg filmstudios used to hang out there like Marlene Dietrich.
I also recommend visiting the Babelsberger Film studios, where they show you, how they made some movies.
