Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: RIC - 40 miles

Our house is in the country, but the city has moved our way over the years! Our street is a quiet road of horse farms and houses. There is a golf course nearby, which is nice for evening walks. Downtown Richmond is 25 minutes away by easily accessed interstate roads. In June 2017 TIME magazine ranked Richmond #2 on list of "25 Cities Where Millennials are Moving". Business Insider has ranked Richmond one of the "Most Fun Cities in America." Nearby (only 8 minutes) is the largest shopping mall in the city of Richmond. (Short Pump Town Center) Convenient grocery stores are only 4 minutes drive. (Wegman's, Whole Foods, Kroger, Trader Joes)
Richmond is home to many wonderful museums (VA Museum of Fine Arts, Science Museum, Virginia History Museum). The James River runs through the city and provides beautiful parks and opportunities for hiking and rafting.
Our house is convenient to many well known tourist destinations, including Monticello and the University of Virginia (45 min), Washington DC (2 hours), Colonial Williamsburg (50 min), Yorktown and Jamestown (50 min), Virginia Beach (2 hours). Also to the west it is easy to reach the Blue Ridge Mountains for many different hiking trails.
