A modern home in the leafy London suburbs (Hampton, South West London)
Welcome to our home, a comfortable 4-bedroom detached house in Hampton, South West London. We've lived on this quiet, friendly street since 2018 with our son and daughter. The house is peaceful, spacious and family friendly. We are keen cooks, so the kitchen has all the appliances you'd expect, including a utility area with dishwasher and tumble dryer. There is an open-plan living and dining area which is bright and airy and leads onto the patio and rear garden.
There is a cosy living room at the front of the house with plenty of books, TV, Netflix. High speed fibre-optic internet is available throughout the home.
We have two double bedrooms and 2 single rooms, currently arranged as follows:
Master bedroom at front of house - king size bed
Double bedroom at front of house - double sofa bed
Single bedroom 1 at rear of house - single bed
Single bedroom 2 at rear of house - single bed
Additional single chair-bed available if required
The garden is small but private, fully enclosed and has a barbecue, dining table and chairs and a clothes airer.
We have parking at the front, a garage and a bike shed with secure locking anchors.

About the neighborhood
Hampton is a peaceful suburb in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames. The village centre, with pubs, two pizzerias, Indian restaurants, and large supermarkets is a 10-minute walk or easy cycle.
We are equally close to the centre of Hampton Hill which offers its own array of restaurants, a small theatre and an excellent wine store.
The area is also one of the greenest in London: if you enjoy the great outdoors, you can walk to Bushy Park (London's second largest Royal Park) in under 10 minutes where there are a wealth of car-free cycle paths, family friendly walks, wild deer roaming, a heated, open-air swimming pool and a fantastic adventure playground. There are playgrounds, tennis courts and fitness facilities in Hampton's three smaller parks (the nearest is a 3 minute walk away). For longer rides or walks, we're just a 10-minute cycle or bus ride to the River Thames path which runs from Oxford to London. Richmond Park is also close.
Other amenities close by include: swimming pools (heated outdoor pool in Hampton), Hampton Court Palace, riverside walks, cinemas, theatres, museums and shopping in Kingston, Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington and Wimbledon. These are accessible by bus, train, bike or car.
From Hampton rail station, Central London is a 40-minute train ride away and stretching to the south is the beautiful countryside of Surrey with its attractive towns, villages, forests and stately homes.
You can drive to our home from Heathrow Airport in 20 minutes or take a direct bus five minutes walk from our home 24 hrs a day. If arriving by ferry, we are a 1 hour 40-minute drive from Dover Port or a similar distance from Portsmouth.

We really liked the house and the area. The exchange partners were very considerate, both their house and ours on return were perfectly clean when we arrived and throughout the whole stay they were always willing to help us if any questions occured. We stayed in contact via WhatsApp and that worked perfectly.

We are a busy family of four. We work hard and have an active social life in the area we live - making most of all the local parks, cycling facilities and we love going into London to explore.
At home, we enjoy cooking and spending time in our small enclosed garden. We also love travelling and showing the children different ways of living.
We have enjoyed all our house exchanges through Intervac to: Canada, Northern Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark and look forward to exploring more of the world with our family in the years to come.
