Sunny appartment with terrace in Barcelona, Spain

Dear Intervac friends! Greetings from sunny Barcelona, Spain.
Barcelona, with a population of aprox. 1,6 million people, is surrounded by the sea, two rivers and the Tibidabo hills.
We are Gisela, a musictherapist, and Anna my daughters. My son is now in the UK. I may travel alone or with them.
We are vegeterians and non smokers. (Please do not smoke in our appartment or balcony at all.)
Our appartment is in a main street, so we can get to the shops in 5 minutes or to the center by underground in about 25 minutes. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a modern kitchen, a living room.
The public bus system has a stop right on our street. You can take the underground to go to the Barceloneta beach. The nearest stop on the underground system is two streets away. You can take the yellow line to go to beach too.
The appartment is near some train stations that will take you to Girona or Figueras (North), Sitges or Tarragona (South), or Montserrat (West).
We have one she cat and some plants that require some attention both inside the house and on the balcony and patio. Cuqui, the cat, is very friendly and cute. If she likes you, she will want to sleep and eat with you...
We live in La Prosperitat quarter, near Sant Andreu, both family areas.
We have some instruments: electric piano, djembé, bongos, darbuca, flutes,... We would like you to take care of them too. We do not lock our cupboards, so would like to exchange with honest and confident families who do not lock their cupboards when we visit your place.
We hope you enjoy your stay in Barcelona!!

About Our Family

We are a cultural family. We love painting, drawing, music, museums, beautiful historical things and cities. I am a musictherapist and work at as an art and music therapist and health coach. Marc is an architect and Anna paints.
When we travel we leave Cuqui at home in Barcelona. We have one she cat. She likes the best, most confy, softer place in the house: sofa and pillows! If you are sitting, then your lap will be her best place.

Lifestyle

We are a cultural family. We love art, beauty and music.
We also like traditions: food, nice and flavoury ingredients, cultural traditions ...
We have lots of traditions in Catalunya, one for every month
January is the month for our ·Wise Men on the 6th
February is the month for the 7-legged Lady and Saint Eulalia, the patron of Barcelona. Look at the town hall web for information about activities. www.bcn.cat
March is normally for Father's day and Easter with lots of chocolate cakes and eggs
April is when we celebrate Easter and Saint Jorge, the dragon, books, literature and princeses and roses
May is the month for sun and mothers. Spring is fantastic, full of light and some rain.
In June we celebrate Saint Joan on the 24th
July and August are beach time and you have lots of festivals outside Barcelona
In September we celebrate the 11th and la Mercè, the main patron of Barcelona, on the 23th. Again, look at www.bcn.cat for more info on activities.
In October and November we have more traditions, specially to do with food. We are always eating nice cakes and recipies.
And we are back to December with Christmas.
I hope you enjoy and love Barcelona as much as we do.
Best regards
is to take the "gegants" i "cabeçuts" for a stroll on some spacial days during the year: the saint patron day in town.
