Our home is a semi-detached flat in Chignolo D’Isola, around 15km from Bergamo.
The house has two floors and can accomodate up to 3 people. Downstairs there is a bathroom with shower, an L-shaped open area, which comprises kitchen and living room with a comfortable sofa, and an open-air area with artificial grass in which you can have breakfast or dinner. Upstairs there is an attic bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom. We also have a garage on the basement floor.
Chignolo d’Isola is a quiet and small town of about 3000 inhabitants. It is 15km from Bergamo, Italian 2023 Capital of Culture, and Orio al Serio International Airport. Bergamo comprises Città Bassa (Lower Town) and Città Alta (Upper Town), the latter is located on a hill and sheltered by massive medieval walls that are a Unesco World Heritage Site and has medieval streets and squares, splendid churches, interesting museums and fine restaurants.
In the surroundings of Bergamo there are three valleys (Imagna, Brembana and Seriana) which lead to the Alpi Orobie and where you can go walking surrounded by nature and mountains. There are also pleasant lakes nearby: Iseo Lake and Endine Lake (which is more intimate and less touristic).
Milan is 40km away and offers museums, churches, historic and modern buildings, shopping and restaurants. Nice towns at easy reach (1 to 2 hrs drive) are Brescia, Pavia, Cremona, Mantua and Verona.
