House in Torhout, Belgium

Hello, we are Philip and Hilde. We have 2 children who are still happy to join us on our holidays.
Philip is a director at the local hospital, Hilde is a teacher in a secondary school. Justien (18) studies law, Maarten (14) is a soccer fan and is very interested in history. Both Justien and Maarten play the piano.
Our house was built in the 1950s and has been in our family ever since. It has a lot of typical Flemish characteristics (wooden beams, a Flemish style fireplace) combined with modern accents.
We have a sunny and secluded garden.
We live at a distance of 2 kms of the centre of Torhout, a town of 20,000 inhabitants where you will find nice shops and restaurants. We are very centrally located: Bruges, Ghent, Brussels and the Belgian coast are all within easy reach, as well as Paris and Amsterdam. Torhout offers a lot of nice walking and biking areas and we have 5 excellent bikes at your disposal.

Our Neighbourhood

Bruges: the medieval street pattern, meandering canals, green ramparts and many cultural activities make Bruges a unique attraction that charms thousands of visitors every year. In 2000, the historic city centre was added to Unesco's world heritage list.
Belgium has about 60 kilometres coastline, with extensive sandy beaches. All coastal towns are bathing in an informal holiday atmosphere. In summertime plenty of outdoor activities are being organised all along the coast.
