Egtved is a small village with all the necessary shopping facilities, but still have that charming small town feeling, very embracing and relaxed. We are the home of the famous Egtved Girl http://en.natmus.dk/historical-knowledge/denmark/prehistoric-period-until-1050-ad/the-bronze-age/the-egtved-girl/
and the renowned artist Robert Jacobsen who amongst many others left us this amazing art work; http://www.oplev.vejle.dk/media/8823/toerskind-grusgrav-uk.pdf
Bindeballe Købmandsgård is a historically old merchant store, that looks like it did a 100 years ago. It's both a museum and a shop, and is worth a visit. http://www.bindeballekoebmandsgaard.dk/

About Our Family

We are a family of four. Dad Thomas, who work as a teacher for kids with special needs, Mom Susanne, who works as a regular teacher, daugher Emilie 17 years, studying and working part time in the local gas station/mini market and son Andreas 15 years, attending middle school 8th grade and playing a lot of football.
We have a love for travelling, especially less touristed and more authentically, so home swopping seems a perfect solution for us. Emilie has just lived a year in Mexico, so she is fluent in spanish.
Our family also includes three cats and a dog, Cliff. All are very friendly and loves to cuddle. If possible, we would like that Cliff could be a part of your experience here, as he is so loveable.
If you are not so keen on feeding cats and hens, we can have help from our neighbours to do this.
To us sustainabilty is important, so we have chosen to live in the countryside, where we can raise the meat we eat ourselves, we are working in building up a fruit orchard, and after that follows a vegetable garden, but we have also put in a lot of effort in modernising and restauring our old homestead from 1920.
As a family we are considered very close, very high spirited and easy to talk to. We love experiencing new things, meeting new people and learning about other countries and cultures.
