Looking for exchanges during July, August, and fall 2020 in Europe. Flat in Hellerup, 5 km from downtown Copenhagen.
My home is located in Hellerup; a quiet and safe suburb to Copenhagen. I live on a great shopping street and have a view of the ocean from my living room.
My apartment is 79 m2, has sloping walls (so it feels smaller) and light wooden floors. It consists of a living room; a kitchen; a toilet; a room with a shower cabin, washing machine, freezer and wardrobe; and two bedrooms: the smallest has a single bed that opens into a double, and the slightly larger has a queen-size bed for two people (and ocean-view!).
A two-person air mattress can be put up in the living room as well.
Note that I live on the fifth floor with no elevator (and we don't include the ground floor in Denmark, so that's five flights of stairs). Just consider it a workout, that's what I do:-). The view is most definitely worth the climb.
You don't need a car to get around Hellerup or Copenhagen, and public transportation in Denmark works really well if you want to explore other parts of the country. If you want to visit Sweden you can take a train from my local station to Malmö.
If you do bring a car or rent one, parking is free in my town and easily found.
It is great to explore Copenhagen by bike and there are plenty of places where you can rent bikes on a daily/weekly basis - or you can get an electric bike from the city bike system in Copenhagen.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: CPH Kastrup Airport - 15 km
My apartment is located in Hellerup on the coastline north of Copenhagen center. The neighborhood, which holds most embassies in Denmark, is quiet, very safe, and perfectly situated: close to Copenhagen city center - 8 minutes by train or 15-20 minutes by bus or bicycle - and yet close to beaches, forests, and parks.
I have good shopping, coffee bars, gelaterie, bakeries, restaurants etc. right outside my doorstep, and beaches (my local beach is tiny but very close, and there are two very popular beaches further up the coast), parks, and a forest close by. You won't find this combination elsewhere in Copenhagen.
Getting to my apartment from the airport or the central train station by train, metro or bus is easy. From the airport it takes approximately 40 minutes from door to door; from Copenhagen central station around 20. I will of course guide you on the best way to get here depending on your means of transportation.
Going to downtown Copenhagen is very easy - you can either hop on a bus 20 meters from my doorstep; walk five minutes to the train station; or hop on a bicycle and in 15-20 minutes you will be in the center of Copenhagen, depending on how fast you are:-).
