Hello!
We're a family of four and we live in a nice little village near Angers, a stone's throw from the "Chateaux" in the Loire Valley. Angers is located half way between Brittany and Paris (1h30 by TGV) and our region has a lot to offer: cruising on the Mayenne river, enjoying a walk in the vineyards, biking along the Loire River.
You can also visit Nantes (1 hour drive) or have a swim in the Atlantic Ocean - La Baule is the longest sandy beach in Europe. D-day beaches and Normandy are a 3-hour drive and we suggest you spend a few days over there to make the most of it.
We have many castles in the surroundings (6km from our home) but you can drive easily to Cheverny, Amboise, Chambord or Chenonceaux ... You can also visit wine estates and taste our Saumur, Layon and Anjou wines. We can leave you some nice addresses of local producers.
Children are most welcome. We have a trampoline, swings and a slide in the garden. The village has a pond where you can go fishing. There is a forest with many possible hikes too.
Our house is warm and colorful. We have a big office with a sofa bed for extra sleeping if necessary. We also have a a nice terrace to relax and a little vegetable garden. Myrtille, our cat is very independent and leads a peaceful life outside.
We have already experienced 6 successful exchanges and we have particularly enjoyed getting to know our partners. We've often met them. We are looking for nice human relationships and mutual respect.

If you like outdoor activities, especially hiking and biking, this is definitely a nice place to be. City life is also at hand. Angers is a picturesque city with a huge medieval castle overlooking the Maine River. There are many old streets dating back to the Middle Ages but also a brand-new tramway that will make life in town very pleasant. We also suggest a visit to Nantes, the historic capital of Brittany and Jules Verne's birth town.
You can also drive to Saumur (45 minutes) or enjoy a surprising visit of the old tuffeau troglodyte caves. We are surrounded by castles and vineyards. With children, we also suggest a visit of the zoos of Beauval or La Flèche (made popular by the TV programme "a season at the zoo").
If you're ready to drive for 3 hours, you can visit Saint Malo and Normandy. Mont Saint Michel and the D-Day beaches are a must-see.
When we want to go to Paris with our daughters we usually take the TGV in Angers (1h30). We take the early train (6:20), have breakfast near Gare Montparnasse and spend the whole day visiting the city. We take a late train (9:30) to Angers. This is one of our greatest pleasures in Autumn.
To get an idea of what Angers looks like, we suggest you have a look at this nice video that was shot at the beginning of the year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=guMfsv_0meA
