A terraced house on two floors in a small medieval center of the Marche

The place. Pergola is a small agricultural centre founded by the artisans of Gubbio in the 12th century AD, rooted in a hilly landscape that still retains the charm of the Renaissance. In the museum of the village is preserved a golden bronze equestrian group attributed to the 1st or 2nd century AD. with two horses, one knight and one matron, one and a half times bigger than then the real. Historical art testimonies are all around; at an hour or less there are Gubbio, Urbino, Ostra, Corinaldo, the abbeys of Fonte Avellana and Sitria, Cagli and Jesi. For nearby nature attractions, just remember the caves of Frasassi and the panoramic rooftop roads towards Fratterosa or between Arcevia and Cabernardi.
The House. It has been repeatedly modified in the nineteenth century by my grandfather and twentieth century by my father on a base probably from the eighteenth century. I have continued to adapt it to the needs of contemporary life. Three-story terraced houses like mine characterize the street. Access from the road is independent and a short staircase reaches the living area with kitchen, dining, sofa area and studio corner. The two bedrooms are upstairs and each floor has a bathroom.
The season. The best times to enjoy the countryside, the region and the Pergola life are spring and autumn, when the air returns sweet after the cold and grey of winter with leaves and flowers that return to dominate the landscape, or when the leaves are dyed with rust or red-purple and the truffle is celebrated for the noodles, the croutons or the simple egg.

L'endroit.

About Our Family

We have been a wife and husband for over 40 years. Once both retired, we devote ourselves to art (pottery, collage, painting) and above all to travel.

Lifestyle

We love the sea in all its nuances and at all latitudes. We also love art, history and the landscape with which to get in touch right through travel.
