City, nature and culture.

Karlstad is located in the middle of Sweden nearby our largest lake, Vänern. Karlstad is built on the delta of the river Klarälven.
Karlstad has about 90,000 citizens and is the center of the region called Värmland. Where ever you go in Värmland, you will always be close to places where you can go swimming, hiking, fishing or golfing and of course, the forest is always available if you would like. Karlstad can offer a lot of culture, events and concerts. There is also an opera house, Wermland opera with a lot of different concerts.
From Karlstad it is 250 km to Gothenburg and Oslo and 300 km to Stockholm, you can go there by train, bus or of course by car.
Our house in Karlstad is in a quiet neighbourhood, surrounded by forest with many nice paths.  The actual town is about 2 km away from the house and you can easily go there by bike, bus or if you prefer; a 25 minutes walk by the river.
The house has 2 bedrooms and in the garden there is a small cottage with room for 2-3 people. There is also a guestroom where you can put an extra bed if you need room for more people.
In the garden you can relax and enjoy warm summerdays and as mentioned; the river is not far away if you would like to go swimming. We would recommend you to use the comfortable porch with windows when the weather is cooler, it’s plenty of room there.

About Our Family

We are a Swedish family, Örjan and Ingela 50+ with three grownup daugthers. Sometimes some of our daugthers travel with us, but most of the time it´s only the two of us. We like to see new places and make new experiences. Earlier we have done some very nice exchanges in Spain, Ireland and France. When we are at home in the summertime, we like to go swimming, take some walks and we also spend a lot of time in our garden whenever the weather is nice.

We also have a cat that lives with us, and Pingu, the cat, will have to stay at home while we are gone. We can arrange that the cat stays at a friend of ours, but we would be most thankful if you would like to take care of him. He only need some food and water every day.

Lifestyle

We are of course interested in travelling and exploring new places. Small towns and countryside are more exciting than big cities. We enjoy to test local food and wine.
