We are a family of four, Lars, Sofia, Selma and Dennis. We live in Sweden’s capital Stockholm. We have during summer holidays done seven very successful house exchanges. Both we and our exchange partners have been very satisfied. Even if we so far only have done exchanges during the summer we are very open for exchanges during other times of the year, preferably during school holidays, around christmas, week 9 and week 44.
Off course we treat our exchange partners belongings very carefully.
We are interested in all kind of exchanges worldwide. Duration can be between 1 – 3 weeks.

Stockholm is a very nice town to visit both for traditional tourist attractions such as museums (that are often very child friendly), like the Vasa museum, the royal palace, the open-air museum Skansen, the town hall and for the old town, as well as the archipelago and the surrounding towns like Sigtuna and Uppsala. Please visist http://www.stockholmtown.com Stockholm is called “Venice of the north” and you can find many beaches.

We live in a north west suburb of Stockholm, Järfälla. The suburb has a long coast line to lake Mälaren and there is also a lot of green areas.
We live in a part of the suburb that started to be built in 2007. It is at the moment expanding a lot and it has an ideal situation close to the nature, shopping and good communications to downtown Stockholm both by car and public transportations (It takes 20-30 minutes by car and 40 minutes by public transportation. The bus stop is only 2 minutes away. It is also possible to take the car to the train station (takes 5 minutes) and then take the commuter train which takes 16 minutes ). There are lots of families with children in our area, many people commute daily to the city center.
We live on the boarder to Järvafälet, a nature reserve, which has good walking/cycling/running paths where you can see meadows, lakes and forests. The lake closest to us is ideal for birdwatching. There is another lake a bit further away where you can go swimming in the summer. On the meadows you will see Highland cattles, sheep and horses. There is a stable, Järfälla Ridcenter 10 minutes walk from our house.
If you want to go shopping you don’t have to go far, we live next to Stockholm Quality outlet where you find many fashion store outlets and IKEA. It takes 5 minutes to walk to IKEA and 10 minutes to Stockholm Quality outlet. A big supermarket, pharmacy and a couple of restaurants are found within walking distance.
The suburb has a long coast line to lake Mälaren where there are several places to go bathing. It takes 10 minutes by car to reach Mälaren. ´
There are also indoor swimming pools and iceskating rinks close by.
If it is bad weather and the kids want to do something indoor it is only a couple of kilomters to
* an indoor playground "Leos lekland" https://www.leoslekland.se/,

During the summer the kids enjoy biking in the neighbourhood, play in the playhouse, jump on the trampoline etc. During winter they enjoy playing in the snow, go down the hill with the sleighs, ice skating on the lake and skiing.
The whole family enjoy outdoor activities very much. In the winter we like alpine skiing and iceskateing on the nearby lakes. In the summer we enjoy walking, cycling and "geocaching".
We enjoy spending time outside and exploring new things and places.
