Flat in Stockholm, Sweden

We are two good old friends, responsible, practical people, who would like to make a holiday exchange in Europe together with our kids.

Time: July or August 2011 for 2-3 weeks.

In the best of worlds your house/apartment is located by the sea or near a lake where we can go for a swim.

We don’t mind looking after a garden or taking care of pets. We are both very fond of animals, cats in particular.

Since we have one household each, we can offer you two apartments in exchange, (if you by chance would like to come to Stockholm together with another family/friend.)

One, a convenient and charming old 3-room-apartment with a green back-yard, is located in a quiet corner of Södermalm, central Stockholm. Here you will find everything a vibrant summer-city can offer, just around the block.

The other apartment, 3 rooms and a 16 meter long balcony, is found in Midsommarkransen, a cosy, somewhat bohemian suburb, ten minutes away by subway from the Södermalm-apartment.

Stockholm is a lively, green and very pleasant summer-city (especially in Södermalm). Since summer is quite short here, people tend to do their best to enjoy it. Festivals, concerts and outdoor-events happen every day. And since there is water all around Stockholm you easily find great spots by the sea/lake to have a coffee/dinner or a pic-nic.

If you get tired of the buzzling city life our best advise is to catch a boat to some of the archipelago’s 35.000 islands. Either you go on a day-trip, stay in a cheap hostel (there are many of that kind) or you borrow our camping-gear and profit from the ”allemansrätten”, a law that allows you to camp generally all over. It is quite remarkable how easy it is to get away.

If you would like to make a longer trip it is nice to catch a cruising boat to Finland, Åland or one of the Baltic countries.

We also have a car, quite small, a Ford Focus flexifuel, that you can use for reaching other places around Stockholm.
