Beautiful frescoed apartment in central Florence

Our bright apartment is located in a quiet area in the center of Florence, surrounded by greenery, which is ideal for visiting the city. From our house you can easily walk (10/15 minutes) to the historical center of Florence and all its monuments (Duomo , Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Galleria dell 'Accademia, Bargello , Piazza Signoria, Santa Croce, Palazzo Pitti etc ). Right under our building, there is a bus stop where you can catch buses that will bring you to Piazza del Duomo in 5 minutes.

In the city there is a very good and easy bike sharing service https://mobike.com/it/

Our apartment is 170 square meters (1830 square ft) and is located on the second floor of an ancient historical building, recently restored, and includes an elevator . There are three bedrooms (two with king-size beds and one with single bed), two bathrooms (with tub and shower), a study room , a large kitchen (dishwasher , washing machine and other appliances) and a large living room (TV, DVD player and CD player) , with three large windows, one of which overlooks the nearby hills, and a balcony. The ceilings in the living room and some rooms are frescoed . The apartment is equipped with Wi- Fi network.

The “Le Cure”, our neighborhood, is a very pleasant place to live: it's quiet , but full of shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets etc. . You will be able to find everything you could need just a few steps away from our apartment’s front door ( indoor and outdoor swimming pools , banks, pharmacies , gyms and parks where you can relax or jog ) . In a square near the house there is an open air market where farmers bring and sell fresh fruits and vegetables every morning. Here, you will find Tuscan cheeses , flowers, fish and meat, but also clothes, shoes and textiles .

Many small villages around Florence are also within easy reach by bus (Fiesole, Settignano , Pratolino) from our house. In Fiesole (10 minutes away by bus), a delightful little village situated on a hill ( you can see it from our balcony ) , there is a beautiful Roman theater and a museum with Etruscan objects . During summertime, ballets, concerts and theater performances of a high standard are organised in the Roman theater. Settignano is a small village on the hills, where it is pleasant to stroll through olive groves and the Tuscan countryside; there are some great restaurants and a wonderful villa with an Italian garden (Villa Gamberaia) that you can visit. In Pratolino there is the beautiful park of Villa Demidoff, where a famous statue "Appennino" of Buontalenti lies in the middle of the lake. It is a very impressive place with a lot of history, as it was the country estate of the Medici family . With a short trip (20/30 minutes by car or by bus) you can reach the area of Chianti , rich in vineyards and wineries where you can taste and buy some of the best wines in Italy.

Our apartment is easily accessible from Florence airport (5 km) and the Pisa airport (80 km). If you land in Pisa, there will be frequent shuttle connections to Florence’s train station of Santa Maria Novella. From there, a bus will bring you home in 8 minutes.

There are many local trains departing each day from Santa Maria Novella station, with which you can reach ( in about 30/40 minutes ) other Tuscan cities rich in history and monuments (Pisa , Lucca, Siena , Arezzo , Volterra , Pienza, San Gimignano , Monteriggioni etc. ), as well as Umbrian cities such as Perugia and Assisi.

The High- speed trains ( Frecciarossa & Italo) can bring you to Bologna (30 minutes), to Rome ( 70 minutes ), to Venice ( 2 hours), and to Milan (90 minutes ). They depart from Santa Maria Novella station.
If you want to spend a day at the beach you can reach Versilia in about 50/60 minutes by car or by train. Here, you will find the famous towns of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, which lie at the foot of the beautiful Apuan Alps, a pristine place which is fabulous for trekking , where you can also visit the Marble Quarries of Carrara, the Wind Cave and the Cave of Corchia and the beautiful little town of Pietrasanta .
In our apartment we have many art books, guides and maps that you can use to make your stay in Italy more pleasant. We will be happy to suggest to you the locations of restaurants and places that we love.
If you stay in Florence for some weeks we suggest you also take the time to visit Maremma (2 hours by car or 2,30 by train), which is a beautiful area in southern Tuscany where you can wonder around small villages, fantastic beaches and the wonderful natural landscapes of the Uccellina park. Also in this area, there are the Etruscan necropolis of Populonia, Cerveteri, Tarquinia and Vulci. It would really be a shame not to visit them if you are in Maremma.

We are two people and prefer to exchange with a couple.
