Holiday home in Louisburgh in the west of Ireland

Our cottage is a holiday home located in the small town of Louisburgh which is situated on the shores of Clew Bay in County Mayo on the West coast of Ireland. It is a detatched bungalow with three bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin), sitting-room, spacious and bright sun-lounge, two bathrooms (bath and two showers), kitchen/dining room and utility room. Outside there is private parking with gardens and a large furnished patio area.
The area around the cottage is very quiet and particularly safe for children as there is no through traffic and plenty of open space.
If you are interested in visiting Dublin there is a direct train service from Westport.

Our holiday home is located in Louisburgh, a small and attractive town 20km west of the lively and vibrant market town of Westport http://westporttourism.com/ . Westport has been voted best place to live in Ireland http://www.destinationwestport.com/2012/06/27/wonderful-westport-named-the-best-place-to-live-in-ireland/
Louisburgh, located 1km back from the seashore, has one hotel, two supermarkets, several traditional bars, coffee shops and a couple of excellent restaurants.
Adjacent to Connemara there are many beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches nearby with rolling countryside and traditional villages. You have a choice of the calmer Clew Bay beaches for swimming or the Atlantic beaches for surfing and water sports.
This location is an excellent base for touring Connemara, Achill and the West of Ireland generally.
Westport attracts tourists all year round and has excellent facilities such as good bars, excellent restaurants, traditional music, swimming/spas, championship golf course, tourist office, shopping and harbour area.
The old railway line between Westport and Achill has recently been converted into the 'Greenway' a walking and cycle track around Clew Bay. The Great Western Greenway has won the EDEN Award - A European Destination of Excellence.

Offshore, the islands of Clare and Turk are easily accessed for an enjoyable trip back in time with spectacular walks and panoramic mountain and sea views. There is excellent coarse and sea angling available nearby.
