Come and discover Vancouver island and all it has to offer. Our Beachhouse on Central Vancouver Island - Nanaimo British Columbia is exclusive waterfront with views of Vancouver North Shore Mountains. Our property is at the end of a no thru street on Departure Bay Beach with nature for neighbours on one side and two large decks for lounging and soaking up the sun facing the Salish Sea (the body of water between Vancouver and Vancouver Island). Roast marshmallows on our firepit while watching the local river otters play; enjoy our view surrounded by a peaceful garden overlooking the ocean. Our kayaks are yours to cruise over to Newcastle Island or paddle to dinner at Penny's Palapas or the popular floating Dinghy Dock Pub. We are walking distance via the beach from the BC Ferries for a day trip to Vancouver or Whistler or drive up to Victoria...looking for snow ?.... skiing on Mount Washington an hour to the hill. Nanaimo is the second largest City on Vancouver Island and the perfect location to day trips from.

Newcastle Island a 20 minute paddle from our home is a mostly undisturbed and is a relatively pristine provincial marine park. Perfect for picnics this island paradise, which protects Nanaimo’s harbour, is comprised of shoreline cliffs,sandy beach, cave systems, a sparkling lake as well as arbutus, Douglas fir and Garry oak trees which cover most of the
island. As a wilderness retreat, wildlife abounds with white tailed
deer, rare blonde raccoons, great blue herons, bald eagles and river
otters to name only a few of the island’s spectacular natural
inhabitants.
15 Minutes South of our house is WildPlay Element Park www.wildplay.com
We also have a kids waterpark, tennis court and sports field only 10 minute walk from the house.
