The house is a restorated romantic cottage of the 'Avesnois' region, called little Switzerland.
It's situated in Couplevoie (Glageon), a small quiet town in the French countryside with shelving meadows, 70km from Cambrai.
You have an airport in Brussels (many companies) and even closer to the house in France the airport of Ryanair in Brussels-South (Charleroi).

The cottage has a cosy living-room with old oak beams and a fireplace with an old chimney. There is a fully equipped cottage kitchen where you can eat, a comfortable bathroom with bath and shower. The windows and doors have been replaced in 2014. There are 3 bedrooms for 6 persons. At the back of the house you can find a conservatory, where you can also eat and from which you have a splendid view over the meadows. There is also a large garage where you can put your car. The garden (meadow) is about 4000 m² (1 acre).
The neighbours are very friendly and helpful.
There's a large shopping centre within 5 kilometers and smaller supermarkets within 3 kilometres and very nice restaurants at reasonable prices.

There is also a lot to visit in the region.
You have near to Couplevoie the Lake of Val Joly, a park with recreational facilities, a new swimming pool and aquatic sports (www.valjoly.com) or you can visit nearby in Trélon the castle of the family de Mérode. You can also make some lovely walks in the countryside close to our house or nearby, make nice bicycle tours or just enjoy the conservatory.

You can do the tour of the fortified churches in a landscape of wood and hills; the Rimbaud-Verlaine tour,… It’s also worth paying a visit to Cambrai, ancient town of art and history where you can discover the Fine Arts Museum, a castle and in the surrounding area the Vaucelles abbey, archaeological remains,…; Laon , the largest protected heritage centre of France ; Reims, city of champagne ; Verdun where took place the battle of World War I with many casualties; Bavay with the largest archaeological site north of the Loire, …
Paris is about 209 km.

In Belgium you can visit the castle of the princes of Chimay , the abbey of Scourmont and its famous Trappist beer and cheeses; you have the Hainaut , the green province with its natural and architectural heritage, caves; ‘the 22 most beautiful villages’ in Wallonia; Brussels,…
