A new and comfortable appartment in a quiet and popular neighbourhood near the center of Amsterdam
We are very lucky to have a comfortable new appartment with a big living, 2 bedrooms and a view on a park and a canal and a nice balcony (10m2). We have a private parking. Everything you need is in the house and you can use everything. There is an elevator too.
We live in an quiet neighbourhood in a quiet apartment in Amsterdam 15 minutes walk from the northwest side of the centre. You can walk to all the interesting places. The area is called the Houthavens (woodharbour) because in former times there was a harbour for wood. There still is a harbour and a river close to the house. Next to our area are old Amsterdam neighbourhoods like the “ Westelijke eilanden” and the “Jordaan”. We have a park in front of the house and the ( bigger) Westerpark is 15 minutes walk away and there you find nice old buildings, café's and restaurants but also nice lanes.
In ca. 30 minutes by bike you are in Waterland, a beautiful region with farms, windmills, nice villages etc and various bikeways. Haarlem and the sea are also nearby.
The shops and busstops are only 5 minutes walking away and the railwaystation is also nearby ( 25 minutes walk or 10 minutes by frequent bus).
It is situated very good for sightseeing Amsterdam and the Netherlands.
There are several bikeroutes from the house and there are nice walks from the house. You don’t need a car because there are buses trams and trains in every direction.
We are both historians by study but we worked in other disciplines (HRM and government) and are now retired.
And if you have a cat we are fond to take care of her/him.

About the neighborhood
Our house is near the center in quiet neighbourhood with nice architecture.(Amsterdamse school)
The river is on 200m and also are the free ferries to the opposite site of the river. A nice swimming poole is on 750m.
There are several bikroutes in the surroundings and nice villages and the picturesque city of Haarlem is nearby (15 minutes by train)

Two retired personage of 72 and 73.
We are both several years retired and like recreational cycling , reading, going to cinema and musea. We als like to go to the nature but also to cities.
Our children are 39 en 43 are now living in there own houses. Maybe our daughter of 39 is coming with us.
