Garden flat in quiet location, central Edinburgh, Scotland. Open to offers from weekends to weeks.
We live in a peaceful crescent looking on to trees and grass with both a front and back garden. 5 mins walk from fantastic pubs and restaurants and 20 minutes walk from the historic centre of Edinburgh. Plenty of free parking available and easy walking or public transport to reach museums, galleries theatres, pubs and cafe's. Edinburgh is a great city for an easy short or longer term break.
Our background is in art, I work at the Scottish Parliament and Peter is an artist and lecturer. We love the great out doors and also getting some culture. We will be travelling with our adult children. Our children enjoy travelling and experiences new places and cultures. We have been happily swapping now for over 10 years and have had great holidays and met some lovely people. We are open to suggestions but in particular looking for a swap for this summer during early July and August.

About the neighborhood
We live in a quiet Crescent with a central grassy area with trees. Close by 2 mins walk is a lovely large park with two children's play areas and plenty of open space.
5 minutes walk takes you to Leith Walk, a long street with a whole range of bars, restaurants and cafes. A further 15 minutes walk takes you to the centre of Edinburgh. Where you will find a range of great galleries and museums which are free to enter. We are also well situated being close to Edinburgh's cycle paths. These allow peaceful walks towards the trendy area Stockbridge, which has attractions such as The Royal Botanical Gardens and the very popular Dean Village.
A short journey in the car and you can visit some of Scotland's magnificent beaches and the Pentland hills. Further afield, we are a three hour drive from Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park and the Highlands. Which is perfect if you are a keen walker.

We are a creative and relaxed family who enjoy exploring new cultures, food and art.
Kate enjoys being outdoors and rowing on the Firth of Forth (which is the inlet nearby) in her spare time.
Peter spends most of his spare time painting in his studio and cycling on the tree lined paths around Edinburgh. He is a great cook too!
Eliot spends his time staying active at the gym and sauna and playing the blues on the guitar. He is also a very talented woodworker.
Ruby is a student, studying textile design. She enjoys climbing at the bouldering gym and working on creative projects.
On holidays we enjoy visiting galleries, museums and sharing meals together.
