A charming holiday home near the sea
Our holiday house is in Arenal d'en Castell, a coastal resort 20 km from the island-capital of Maó (Mahón) and 24 km from the airport. The main attraction of this area is the beautiful beach with its horseshoe shape. The beach is a 5-minute walk from our front door and is one of the most iconic beaches in Menorca. Arenal d'en Castell is a great base for discovering the rest of Menorca, though having a car is a must.
This is our second home (we live in Alaior) and we spend most of the summer here. Because of this, the house is fully equipped with everything you might need: Wi-Fi, washing machine, dishwasher, fireplace, etc.
Menorca is a very popular destination in the summer, but it can also be wonderful in the low season for trekking and enjoying nature.
Non-simultaneous exchanges: Since this is our second home, we can offer non-simultaneous exchanges, as we can easily move back to our main house in Alaior when guests are visiting.

About the neighborhood
Arenal d'en Castell is a great location for relaxing in summer, but it is also very well positioned for discovering the rest of Menorca.
The resort has essentially two parts: one side where you can find hotels and is naturally busier and more touristic. The other side -where our house is located- consists mostly of villas where local families spend their summers. It's much quieter and has a more residential feel.
Groceries: There is a small supermarket within walking distance from our home where you can find almost everything you need.
Eating out: On the other side of the bay, there is a variety of bars and restaurants.
Transport: While there is a bus service connecting Arenal d'en Castell to Maó and Alaior, a car is highly recommended if you want to explore the island's hidden gems comfortably.

A great large house with room for a family and nice play pool in the back. Waling distance to cafe and shop. Beach nearby in a lovely seaside village. Good place to explore menorca. Easy communication with host and seamless exchanged. Would have no hesitation in recommending the for echanges.

Das Strandhaus auf Menorca hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Es ist sehr geräumig, ganz neu eingerichtet und der traumhafte Strand ist nur 5 Gehminuten entfernt. Joan hat uns mit allen Informationen versorgt und viele gute Tipps auch während unseres Aufenthalts per sms gegeben. Der Austausch mit ihm und seiner Familie war sehr herzlich.

We are a quiet family living on a quiet island
I'm Joan, an English teacher with a passion for staying active and getting my hands dirty with DIY projects - mainly restoring old bikes.
My wife, Pili, is also a teacher; she finds her joy in long hikes listening to her favourite music.
We have twins, Ona and Nil. Ona spends her time reading, drawing, and dancing hip-hop with her friends. Nil is the musical spirit of the house; he loves discovering new music and also plays the trumpet.
Our travel style is simple: we enjoy walking and discovering new places away from the crowds. We like finding small, local places to eat, but we also enjoy the routine of cooking at home. We are very careful with our belongings and will take the same care of your home as we do our own.
As we are both teachers, we only travel during our school breaks, that is mainly Christmas, Easter and the summer break in July and August.
