San Rafael, USA

We live in a very comfortable home in the town of San Rafael, a five minute walk from the San Francisco Bay and 29 kilometers north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate bridge. There is a park with tennis courts and play area for children just 5 minutes walking from our home, and you can access hiking trails from there that take you up into the hills of Marin County, where you can see the three bridges that connect the bay. Our home has three bedrooms with queen beds and one study with a single bed. There are two full bathrooms and one half bathroom with no shower. Our kitchen is open to the family room, which lends itself well for wonderful informal gatherings around cooking. The neighborhood is quiet and very friendly! Neighbors generally gather in the park with their dogs and a bottle of wine on Friday evenings to relax from the week. We know our neighbors well (which is sometimes unusual these days!) In the spring, summer, and fall we enjoy sitting by the pool for a meal in the evenings. Our weather in San Rafael can be described as "Mediterranean" --the summers are warm and dry.
