Dear Intervac Friends

2021 we changed our home and we live now in the beautiful city Friedrichstadt, near the North Sea coast with a lovely garden.

Welcome to a holiday region between the Danish border and the Elbe. Here you will find peaceful villages and beautiful thatched houses, and the green dykes tempt with comfortable wicker beach chairs where you can enjoy the fantastic view. Historical towns such as Friedrichstadt, Husum and Tönning offer cosy shopping tours and musuem visits. St. Peter Ording is famous for the long sandy beach. Explore the Wadden Sea area which has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the halligen are a unique experiance to be found nowhere else in the whole world. Further it is easy to reach the North Frisian island Sylt, Amrun, Föhr and Pellworm.

A large number of museums and culuture institutions awaits you. Many exhibition inform about the North Sea but there is even a North Frisian museum which is world famous: the Nolde Foundation Seebüll.

From Friedrichstadt you can discover easily the North of Germany also the Baltic Sea ist not far away (45 min by car). A day trip to Hamburg is possible by car or train. Please ask us, we know Hamburg very well.

However, is going far away on many trips every day really necessary? Some activities such as swimming at the Treene-river, hire a boat, stand-up-paddling or take a tour at the lovely old town (400 years old) are easily to reach by foot or bike . Restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries and the train station are not far away (10-15 min. by foot). Just feel free to use our bikes, take the train or the car in order to spend an interesting day.

At our home, you find anything you need for a nice stay. The house is equiped with 2 TV, DVD, 2 stereo systems and wifi. In our lovely garden you can relax. We live in a quiet and childfriendly area. Would you like to have barbecue? Then you are welcome to use our charcoal grill.

Wir (Kerstin und Uwe) wohnen in Friedrichstadt (Nordfriesland), auch das Holländerstädtchen genannt mit Grachten und 400 Jahre altem Stadtkern. Nahe der Nordseeküste und die nächsten größeren Städte sind Husum (Theodor-Storm-Stadt) und Heide (bekannt für den größten Marktplatz Deutschlands). Mit guten Verkehrsanbindungen per Bahn und Auto um Hamburg und Norddeutschland mit den Nordsee Inseln (Sylt, Föhr, Amrum) zu erkunden. Unsere Wohngegend ist sehr ruhig. Geschäfte, Supermarkt, Bahnhof und Restaurants sind fußläufig gut zu erreichen. Die ländliche Umgebung lädt auch zum Fahrrad fahren ein. Freizeitaktivitäten wie Schwimmen im Treene-Flußschwimmbad, Grachtenfahrt durch die Kanäle, Treetbot, Ruderbot, Kajak mieten etc sind in 10-15 Min. zu erreichen. Auch die Ostseeküste (Flensburg/Glücksburg) ist in 45-60 Minuten gut mit dem Auto zu errreichen. Hamburg, eine lebendige Stadt mit maritimen Flair und vielen kulturellen Angeboten erreicht man per Bahn in ca. 2 Std. oder mit dem Auto in 90 Min. Ein weiteres Highlight ist die Nähe zu Dänemark: Tondern an der Westküste oder Sonderburg an der Ostküste sind innerhalb von 1,5 - 2 Std. mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen und immer einen Ausflug wert.In unserem Haus ist alles vorhanden, was man für einen gemütlichen Urlaub benötigt. Unser großer Garten lädt zum relaxen ein entweder auf der Terasse oder im Garten unter den Bäumen. Lust auf einen Grillabend? Dann haben wir einen Holzkohlegrill für Euch.
