A 17th century townhouse in medieval village near Normandy
This 4-bedroomed house looking over the village square has a courtyard for outdoor living, a massive fireplace for cosy evenings and is a stone's throw from the local château and village shops. The local swimming pool, rose garden and walking tracks are close by and the area is ideal for cycling. Lassay is an ideal base to discover Le Mont St Michel, St Malo, the Loire Valley and is only 1 hour 30 by fast train to Paris.

Lassay-les-Châteaux is a central spot for day-trips to Le Mont St Michel - 1.5hr http://en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-1-2.html, St Malo - 2hrs, Bayeux - 1.5hrs, Le Mans - 1.5hrs https://www.st-malo.com/en/, Honfleur - 2 hrs. It is situated the Mayenne Department and is within the Normandy-Maine Natural Regional Park.

From Lassay itself, you have a choice of walking tracks, two of which have hidden sculptures along the way. The local swimming pool, rose garden and medieval garden are a stone's throw from the house where you can sit back and enjoy the tranquility.

We are a couple in our 60s with grown up children. They have flown from the nest now, but your children are welcome. I'm originally from New Zealand and Patrice is French and we love visiting different regions in the world. We believe strongly in this opportunity to get to know other families and to base our exchange on mutual trust and understanding.
We would like to set up exchanges with New Zealand in 2023 and 2024. Staying for between 1 & 3 months gives you the opportunity to live life in France.

Livsstil
During your stay, you can help yourself to the fresh organic vegetables from our 'potager'. The local baker and butcher are a 1-minute walk from the house, as is the local grocer and there's a bigger supermarket 1km up the road. The weekly market is on a Wednesday and an organic market on the first Friday of every month.
There are lots of walking tracks and cycling circuits http://www.mayenne-tourisme.com/en/Activities/Cycling/Cycling-and-green-ways-voies-vertes in the area : a rail trail and towpath in the vicinity and little country roads in this quiet rural part of France.
