San Mamés de Meruelo, Spania

    We are a Spanish family that wish to exchange their house in Meruelo (Cantabria) in the North of Spain.
We have worked as teachers in  Meruelo and Santoña, Cantabria, now we are recently retired. Our house (two floors, garage and garden) is located in a rural area, San Mamés de Meruelo, 3 minutes away from the town center, San Miguel de Meruelo, by car. 

On the ground floor there is :
• a spacious sitting room with TV and with windows that look onto the garden
• a kitchen with a fridge, electric cooker, oven, micro-wave, dishwasher and washing machine.
• two bedrooms with two beds each
• a bathroom.
Upstairs there is:
• a bedroom with a large bed and a balcony
• another bedroom with a balcony
• a bathroom
In the garden there is a little swimming pool and a barbecue
On the roof there are some solar pannels for the hot water and the electricity

Meruelo is located 5-10 minutes away from the several touristic towns (Noja, Isla, Ajo, Santoña...) and beaches (Ris, Tregandín, Helgueras, la Arena...)(VIEW pictures), but our house is very quiet and suitable for the summer. If you like hill walking or going for short walks, you will have the opportunity of crossing through the nearby litle mountains (30 minutes trip); you can go as well a bit farther (1h 30 trip) and you will arrive at the Picos de Europa (the big mountains of Cantabria, Asturias and León). If you enjoy visiting other towns, Santander is 25 minutes away, Bilbao (Gugenheim museum...) 45 minutes away, San Sebastian (Chillida house-museum, La Concha beach...) 1h 30 away, Castro Urdiales 30 minutes away, Oviedo 2h away...
