OUR HOME IN GORENJSKA
Our home is located in the beautiful Gorenjska region, near the historic town of Škofja Loka, surrounded by peaceful countryside.
It’s the perfect base for exploring Slovenia:
* Ljubljana (30 km away) – charming capital with a lively old town and castle.
* Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj – Slovenia’s most famous alpine lakes.
* Postojna Cave – world-famous underground wonder.
* Soča River – turquoise waters and breathtaking valley.
* Slovenian Coast – just 2 hours away, ideal for a day trip.
From our home you can be sunbathing at the seaside or hiking in the mountains within the same day.
We also offer our VW Touran (2016, diesel) as part of the exchange.

* Hiking and Nature: Trails start right from our doorstep.
Nearby peaks include Ratitovec (1665 m), Porezen, Miklavška gora (955 m), Lubnik (1025 m), and Blegoš (1562 m). Walking poles are available.
* Local Food: A must-visit is Pr’ Boštjanu restaurant at Križna Gora (10 km), famous for traditional Slovenian cuisine.
* Lake Bled: Slovenia’s iconic destination. Don’t miss the legendary Bled cream slice (kremna rezina), first created in 1953.
* Lake Bohinj: A quieter, more natural alternative to Bled. From here, you can also enjoy a ride on the historic steam train.
* Ljubljana: Discover the castle, old town, and vibrant restaurants. We recommend Monstera Bistro. For a world-class experience, Slovenia is also home to Hiša Franko, whose chef Ana Roš has been awarded Best Female Chef in the World.

House in small village, but very appropriate for day trips around to explore and feel Slovenia. Close to mountains, also with easy access and nice views.

* Zagreb Airport (ZAG, Croatia) – 170 km, about 2 hours by car.
* Trieste Airport (TRS, Italy) – 160 km, about 2 hours by car.
* Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE, Italy) – 240 km, about 2.5 hours by car.
* Vienna Airport (VIE, Austria – Dunaj) – 380 km, about 4 hours by car.
* Munich Airport (MUC, Germany) – 400 km, about 4 hours by car.
Slovenia is compact and well connected, so traveling from nearby airports is easy. Ljubljana is the closest and most convenient, but Zagreb, Trieste, and Venice also offer good options, often with more international flight choices.

The apartment is located right in the heart of the city and is very spacious and beautiful. You can feel the vibrant atmosphere of the city, which draws you in and makes you want to go out and explore it yourself. The apartment fully matches the description, communication with the family was smooth, and we received plenty of great tips.
