Modern Family Home on the Edge of the Black Forest - Perfect for Relaxation and Adventure!
Welcome to our newly built home (completed in 2023), located in the beautiful town of Lahr, right at the edge of the Black Forest. Our spacious 140 m² apartment offers everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We have four bedrooms (1,80 m bed, 1,60 m bed, 1,40 m bed and one single bed), two modern bathrooms, and a small indoor sauna for some personal wellness time. You can unwind in our whirlpool bathtub or enjoy the stunning views of Lahr from our cozy terrace. On the ground floor, there is a large multi-purpose room that’s ideal for yoga, meditation, or any similar activities. Our home is nestled by the forest, making it the perfect retreat, yet only steps away from two children’s playgrounds. Our garden is currently being built. What is now still part construction site is expected to become a wellness oasis with a natural pool, terrace and outdoor kitchen finished by spring/summer 2026. For those looking for some excitement, we’re just 25 minutes away from Europa-Park Rust, one of Europe’s top amusement parks. The charming cities of Strasbourg and Freiburg are only 45 minutes away, offering endless opportunities for cultural exploration, shopping, and fine dining. Whether you're looking for relaxation in nature or family-friendly adventures, our home is the ideal base for your next vacation. We look forward to welcoming you!

About the neighborhood
We live in Burgheim, the oldest district of Lahr, situated at the foot of the Black Forest. Our home is located in a newly developed residential area, offering modern living with the charm of the historic neighborhood. Just 100 meters from our house, the forest begins, providing direct access to beautiful nature and countless hiking trails. For families, there are two playgrounds within walking distance, making it ideal for children to enjoy outdoor activities. Despite the tranquility of our location, we are still close to all necessary amenities, offering the best of both worlds—peaceful nature at our doorstep and easy access to urban conveniences.

As we opened the door to their home, we stepped into a space that radiates warmth and care. Each room, thoughtfully arranged, welcomed us with a unique charm. We enjoyed the garden and the carefully integrated sauna, nestled quietly in a corner, offering a retreat that felt like a hidden treasure. They put a lot of care and effort in creating a welcoming environment. The house is very beautiful and spacius, even better than the photos reflect. Family Hoes were very friendly and flexible. Communication with them was very good both before and during the exchange. Particularly noteworthy is the tourist information that they offered us, about the different areas near their home, many recommendations on places to visit as well as typical shops or good restaurants. The instructions for the house and important things to know were also very good. They also provided bicycles for us, so we could experience the dutch cycling lifestyle. We enjoyed the stay a lot!

We are a lively and adventurous patchwork family, always eager to explore new places and experiences. Harald and Tina, along with our two youngest daughters Flora (4) and Evia (1,5), are our regular travel companions. Depending on the trip and time of traveling we are sometimes also joined by Mia (15), Ajda (11), and Jonathan (8), making each journey a fun, shared adventure. We love discovering new cultures, meeting people, and embracing everything that comes with traveling to new destinations. We speak English, Slovenian, French, Spanish, and a little Portuguese, which makes exploring new places and connecting with others even more exciting. As a family, we value respect and care for others' homes as much as we do for our own. We look forward to exchanging not just homes, but stories, experiences, and perhaps even new friendships!
