Charming renovated house with big garden at Swiss border close to Lake Constance.
Our detached house, built in 1953, has been renovated and has a spacious modern extension from 2008. The big garden and terrace is laid out in a Mediterranean style and only borders on other gardens. The neighbourhood is quiet with friendly and uncomplicated neighbors.
The house is well insuled and doesn’t heat up in summer.

About the neighborhood
Hilzingen is about 20 minutes from Lake Constance and the Rhine Falls. It ls surrounded by the volcanic Hegau mountains, whose castle ruins (on all of them) are all worth a visit, with the Hohentwiel being the most impressive one, it was maybe the biggest fortress in Germany. There are famous and secret tourist attractions in all four directions: Black Forest and the Wutach Schlucht Canyons in the West, lake Constance in the East, the Swiss Alps with the spectacular Alpstein mountains at 1.5 hours South, and in the North the Upper Danube Nature Park, great for canoeing.
There are lots of differnet places around for a swim: Hilzingen’s public outdoor pool (very nice with a huge lawn area), young River Rhine at 15 minutes with natural beaches, lake Constance, and other smaller lakes with lidos.
Hilzingen itself has a descent super market, some shops, pharmacy and doctors. The next bigger town is Singen, 10 minutes away, it offers any possible shopping facility due to the Swiss customer base. Close to our house we have a little organic store at 5' minutes walk.
