With villages of honey-coloured stone cottages and pubs, surrounded by unspoilt countryside and historic market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford, yet only 90 mins from central London by train. Whether you’re looking for historic visits to Belvoir Castle, Burghley House and Rockingham Castle or an action packed break sailing, windsurfing, fishing, walking, cycling or getting close to nature at the Egleton Nature Reserve, one of the most important wildfowl sanctuaries in Britain, Rutland is a fantastic place to holiday.
