House in Amsterdam nearby IJsselmeer, Netherlands
We are a family of four. Jeroen (59), Marije (50) Jilles (13) & Julie (11) We live in a nice house with a garden nearby the most famous beach of Amsterdam: 'Strandeiland'. (5 minutes walking distance). It is located at the newest suburb called IJburg. A neighborhood with interesting architecture and a lot leisure activities (sailing, surfing, boats etc).
IJburg is located in the Eastern part of Amsterdam, in 15 minutes you are in the old city center of Amsterdam, by public transport.
You have the best of two worlds: a quiet neighborhood with a beach and 15 minutes away is the famous center of Amsterdam.
We just renovated our house, so there will be in summer 2023 also a roof terrace on the south side and a roof structure where you can enjoy the sun and the view around the water (IJmeer).

About the neighborhood
The neighborhood is very spacious, relaxed nearby the IJsselmeer and a city beach. It is multicultural with a little port, with some restaurants as well.

We had a great exchange with the family. We kept in communication before, during, and after the exchange and everything went smoothly. The house is roomy and the neighborhood is quiet, with all the necessary amenities.
Het was een fijne huizenruilervaring. Goede communicatie vooraf en tijdens de huizenruil. Duidelijke afspraken. Het was voor beide partijen een geslaagde vakantie.
Het huis is zoals op de foto's. Leuke buurt. Goed contact met gezin gehad voor en tijdens de ruil.

Nice house in Amsterdam, IJburg
We are a family of four. We like to travel, watching movies, reading, cooking, playing chess, tennis and soccer.
Our kids are 16 and 14 years old (a boy: Jilles and a girl: Julie). We are always in for something new but love to relax as well.
Jeroen is the technical director at Mediamuseum at Hilversum (www.beeldengeluid.nl ) and Marije is a team lead at the public library of Amsterdam. Jilles loves to play tennis, chess and a lot of games. And Julie likes to play soccer, cooking and playing the guitar.
We have exchanged for more than 10 times. We have had always nice experiences! It is a very nice way to travel and meeting other people & cultures.
