We live in a modern family home, 5 min. walk from the Grand Place of Sint-Truiden (Flanders/Belgium).
Ground floor: private car-parking garage, entrance hall, utility room (with fridge/freezer, washing & dry machine), 1st toilet, large living room with fully equiped kitchen (2 multifunctional ovens, fridge, dishwasher...) and seating area (cable tv, flatscreen, fireplace, netflix, wifi).
Outside: terrace with gasbbq, table -& loungeset, 150m2 city garden with swimming pool 8x4m
First floor: second living room / desk, bathroom (toilet, bath, shower, 2 sinks...).
Second floor: 2 bedrooms (both double bed)
Third floor: open space master bedroom with double bed and bathroom with shower & toilet.
Sint-Truiden (40000+ hab.), est. in 655. A lovely terrace, a wonderful view of the city centre and its towers, its historic buildings or the splendid landscape with many fruit orchards,… enchanting in every season.
Besides many historical churches, castles and a city monastry, Sint-Truiden has also 2 UNESCO-heritage sites: the belfry (town hall, Grand Place) and the Beguinage.
Don't forget to taste our Belgian beers and visit our 2 homemade brewery's: Kerkom and Wilderen (they also make Gin, Whiskey, Rum etc.). Try also one of the many biking or walking tours! Other towns in the vicinity (max. 30-50 mins by car): Tongeren, Hasselt, Liège, Maastricht, Brussels, Louvain... and 90 mins from Ghent, Bruges.

Location, location, location. From reading the listing and researching, we expected a great location. The people of Sint Truiden made our stay even better than expected. From coffee and croisants a block away, the terrific Saturday market just three blocks away, the Museum of many locations, to the fabulously competitive restaurants, Sint Truiden is extraordinary. The Clerinx family home is a great blending of old and contemporary. The Clerinx Family are Survivors of the great "2022 airline misplaced my luggage" for the entire duration of our exchange. Thanks for the adventure.
Nous avons passé 3 semaines en juillet 2024 chez Dieter et Evi. L’expérience ne fut que positive. Les préparatifs furent facilités par leur grande disponibilité à répondre à nos questions. Ils furent généreux de conseils. Dès notre arrivée, nous nous sommes sentis chez nous. La maison est immense, moderne, confortable et d’une propreté irréprochable. Le terrain est intime, aménagé avec soin et possède une superbe piscine pour se détendre et profiter de la vie!. La maison est située au cœur du quartier historique, à 2 minutes de marche de la place centrale et des terrasses !! Tous les commerces se trouvent à distance de marche de la maison (restaurants, épicerie, pâtisseries, etc) L’accès à la gare est aussi facile, se trouvant à 5 minutes de marche. Le quartier est tranquille et sécuritaire. Tout au long de l’échange, Dieter est demeuré disponible pour nos questions. Dieter et sa famille ont pris bien soin de notre maison. A notre retour, tout était parfait. Nous avons eu la chance de croiser la famille à l’aéroport, se fut un moment des plus agréables. Nous recommandons sans réserve d’échanger avec cette famille. Nous en garderons un excellent souvenir et n’hésiterons pas à passer les saluer lorsque nous retournerons en Europe!

We're a family of four. Dieter is working for the municipal services of Sint-Truiden as an event manager. Evi is a graphic designer and teaches at an art school in Hasselt. We like travelling and exploring different places. Giel and Lili-Marie both like to swim and to draw/paint. We've discovered Intervac thanks to our friends Pieter and Julien (and Pieters parents). They also live in our hometown.
